Ethel Ciotti

Ethel Ciotti from Lincoln Park, Michigan passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the age of 92. Ethel was born on July 7, 1926 to the late John and Ethel (Matyas) Sigmond. Ethel is survived by her son, Curtis Ciotti of Lincoln Park, Michigan; granddaughters, Nicole (William James) Erlacher of Honolulu, Hawai'i and Michelle (David) Porter of Commerce City, Colorado; and one great-granddaughter, Brianna Autumn Porter. Ethel grew up and attended school in Lincoln Park, Michigan where she graduated in 1944. In 1952 she married Armand Ciotti and had 3 beautiful children; Martin, Curtis and Debra. She truly enjoyed working and often held multiple jobs at once. She retired from First American Title Insurance Company in the early 2000s; worked at Clemente's Restaurant, Bar and Bowling Alley until the company closed in 2010; and most recently, Meijer, as a door greeter until 2014. She was business-minded and managed multiple residential properties. She enjoyed being busy. In her spare time she was a devout Catholic and went to church regularly at Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Lincoln Park. Ethel Ciotti had a wonderful, giving heart. She would help out the less fortunate when she could including: the homeless population, families in need and stray animals. At church, she would participate in many of the charity drives and always said a prayer for others. She taught her granddaughters how to "save for a rainy day," instilled proper morals and work ethics, gave sage advice when it was needed, demonstrated acceptance and compassion for others, helped them learn how to drive, talked for hours together during visits and phone conversations, and above all, she showed them unconditional love. Ethel will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her and by those she helped. Family and friends are invited to share memories, laughter, and celebrate the life of Ethel Ciotti on Saturday, September 8 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Martenson Funeral Home in Allen Park, Michigan. Church service will follow at Christ the Good Shepherd at 11 a.m. with burial service at Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. A video tribute will be added, please check back.
