Groth, Errol - a man of dedication, love, and unwavering commitment, peacefully departed this life on March 28, 2024, at the age of 84, surrounded by the warmth of his beloved family. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 6 pm on Monday, April 1, 2024, with visitation preceding from 1 to 6 pm at Martenson Funeral Home in Allen Park, Michigan.
Born on December 1, 1939, to Helen (Fry) and Stanley Groth, Errol's journey through life was marked by selflessness and hard work. After serving his country in the US Army, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a Millwright, earning his journeyman card and dedicating 36 years of service to Ford Motor Company. At the Rouge complex, Errol played an integral role in ensuring
the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment, contributing to the production of iconic Ford Mustangs that brought joy to countless individuals. His tireless efforts were not just about work; they were a testament to his commitment to providing for his family and ensuring their happiness.
Upon retiring, Errol and his cherished wife, Janet (Smith), settled in Saline, Michigan, where they found solace “out in the country”. Their home became a haven filled with the laughter and love of their three children, Dawn, Dana (Chuck), and Larry (Danielle), and their seven adored grandchildren: Ryan, Sierra, Nathan, Kyra, Alianna, Landon, and Mia. Together, they created
memories that will forever be cherished, with late afternoons spent basking in the warmth of the sunshine on the driveway outside the garage.
As time passed, Errol faced the challenges of dementia with courage and grace, his memories fading but his spirit enduring. Even in his final moments, he found solace in the presence of his loved ones, his passing a testament to the profound bond they shared.
In celebrating Errol's life, we remember a man who leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion—a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift us all. Though he may no longer walk among us, may his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to bring comfort and joy to those who hold him dear.
