Ernest L. Dejulian

Ernest Leonard DeJulian passed away Wednesday August 14th following a brief illness. Ernest was 92 years old. He was the beloved husband of Clara DeJulian, age 89, and the loving father of Michael and Beth DeJulian, Mary Jo DeJulian, Michel DeJulian and Brian Moccia. Ernest was the most wonderful grandfather to Paul Brown, Erin Gray, Jessica Spies, Austin Moccia and Marino Moccia. He was a fun and loving great grandfather to David Julian Gray and Neala Joy Spies. Ernest also leaves behind two grandson in laws David Gray and Ernest Spies. Loving brother in law to Delores Ciotti and loving Uncle to David Ciotti and Linda Purdy. Ernest was born June 2nd, 1927 and was the son of Ernestine and Rocky DeJulian. Initially from Avella Pennsylvania he moved to Michigan as a young boy where he spent the rest of his life. Ernest joined the Coast Guard at the age of 18. An Optician by trade he worked until the age of 87 years old. He was an avid musician who loved to listen to music, create music and played in various band and orchestras throughout his life and musical career. Music was truly his great love second only to his wife and family. Ernest played baseball throughout his life and bowled on leagues with friends. He also enjoyed sports and watched the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings each season. He was a huge fan of Michigan State football as well. Ernest had a strong faith and loved the Lord. He attended church each week and enjoyed many friendships at Sacred Heart Parish where he has been a member for the past 35 years. Ernest will be remembered for his love of life and people. He was well known in the community and enjoyed friendships with so many people it was difficult to go anywhere with him without coming upon a friend or a patient. He was a fun and joyful man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
