Ernest Gronda

Ernest Edward Gronda Jr. of Grosse Ile was born on December the 15th 1945 in Trenton, Michigan to Ernest Edward Gronda and Teresa Marie Gronda (Tuttle) and died on January the 13th 2021 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Kenmore, New York at the age of 75. Beloved husband of the late Evanell Marie Gronda (Robinson), loving father to Raven (Gordon) Pettigrew, Jessica Webb, and Jennifer (Andrew) Humphriss. Proud grandfather of Mukwa Pettigrew, Estrella Villa, Lilith Hanke, Jodi (Michael) Carlson, James Beneteau II, Justin Benetau, and the late Shane Hanke Jr. Great grandfather to Christian, Colten, and Jayce Carlson. Also survived by two brothers John (Jean) Gronda, Charles (Patricia) Gronda and sister in-law Linda Gronda. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and one brother William Gronda. Ernest attended Grosse Ile High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, ending his service in 1969 as a Sergeant. He worked for the Rouge Steel Ford Motor Company serving in many different positions until his retirement. He was of Wyandot of Anderdon Nation ancestry. He loved exploring the great lakes by boat and spent many summers traveling abroad. He will be greatly missed.
