Born in Avella, Pennsylvania, Emil was the son of Celestin and Margaret (Winters) Dumas. Emil faithfully served his country in United States Army Air Corps from March of 1943 until February of 1946. He married the love of his life, Dolores M. Balent, on June 12, 1948. Sadly she preceded him in death February 16, 2004. Emil owned and operated Pipe and Equipment Insulations Company for over 33 years, retiring in 2003. He was a Life Member of VFW Post 1138 Monroe and the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 671. Emil leaves to cherish his memory his children: Leslie (Kurt) Gepke-Knudson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Laurent Dumas of Knoxville, Tennessee, Barbara (William) Dover of Monroe, Michigan, Mary (William) Chamberlin of Monroe, Michigan, and Kenneth Dumas of Knoxville, Tennessee; as well as 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and both parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Janine Alison Dumas, a sister Josephine (Dumas) O'Brian, and 2 grandchildren.
