Emery J. Tibbs

Emery J. Tibbs, age 79 of Grosse Ile and formerly of Taylor, was born on May 4, 1939 in Pikeville, Kentucky and passed away peacefully on June 16, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital-Downriver in Wyandotte. Loving husband of 56 years to the late Julia Lillian. Dear father of the late Marc Farrand, Cheryl (Robert) Vance, Lisa Bennett, Cynthia (Daniel) Dusik, Monica (Randy) Summers, Edward, and Mitchum (Diane). Proud grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 8. Emery is also survived by his sister Darlene Bowens and his brother Carmen White. He was preceded in death by his parents Emery and Alberta (nee: Hamilton) and one sister Josephine Damron. Emery loved his family above everything; he also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a proud member of the UAW and NRA. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
