Elizabeth Thorsen

Elizabeth was born on September 22, 1947 in Detroit, MI and died on October 27, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte, MI at the age of 76. She was a long-time resident of Brownstown Township. Beloved wife of 51 ½ years to the late Timothy. Loving mother of Troy and Jason. Proud grandma of Carter and Brody. Dearest sister of Bernadine (the late Danny) Pelachik and Noreen (the late Art) Hall. She will also be greatly missed by numerous other loving family members, her long-time friend Jim and countless other friends. Preceded in death by her dear husband Timothy and her parents Norbert and Matilda Shamus. Liz joyfully worked for the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District, so much so that she filled in whenever needed, almost up until her death. Her favorite pastimes were rocking on the deck at the cottage while reading a good book, monthly luncheons with her girlfriends and playing board games with her grandchildren. Memorial contributions in honor of Elizabeth may be made as the donor chooses.
