Elizabeth G. Grauer

Elizabeth Grauer of Allen Park passed away at the age of 89 on Friday May 13. Elizabeth was born to Henry and Elizabeth Evers on January 25, 1933 in Kansas City Missouri. The family eventually moved to Ohio where many fond, fun, and loving memories were made, and where she met and married Dean Grauer, her husband of 40 years until his passing in 1993. Family was everything to Elizabeth and she showed it through her many talents. Her photographs, baking and cake decorating skills, macrame, and stained glass creations provided many happy and magical moments. Elizabeth was a loving mother to Michelle, Teri, Dean, Jeff (Maria), and Beth (Al). She was the ultimate loving grandmother to Philip, Jared, Danielle, Justin, Michael, Tyler, Austin, Kyle, and Madison, and a loving great grandmother to Donovan, Charlie, and Brynlee. The memories we have of holiday games, decorating cookies with the grandchildren, birthday parties with her special cakes, and ice skating at Winterhurst and Allen Park ice arena will always be remembered, along with trips to the movies with a stop at the penny candy store, and finding her in the bleachers during sporting events. Elizabeth was blessed with 11 brothers and sisters. Tony the oldest and Hank the youngest who predeceased her, and Ann, Cece, Mary, Ted, Carl, Rosie, Joanne, Jeanne, and Patty. She was also a caring aunt to many nieces and nephews. As a cancer survivor, in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Elizabeth’s name to National Breast Cancer Foundation. Services will be held at St. Frances Cabrini in Allen Park, instate at 9:30 until mass at 10:00 am with brunch to follow on Friday May 20, 2022.
