Elisabetha Fulmer

Elisabetha Fulmer Elisabetha "Betty" Fulmer of Trenton, MI, passed away quietly the morning of July 12, 2016. She was born in Durlach, Germany May 28, 1933, the first child of a painter, Willie and his wife Hildegard, Armbrust. She was raised in Karlsruhe and endured early hardship when the village where she and her family lived, was destroyed by the 3rd Reich and her family displaced. Upon graduation from high school she entered trade school and became a master seamstress. As an adult, she embraced the hard work of being a business owner and built a successful beer tent business. Her venue seated 1,500 hundred patrons, plus a band and was a favorite stop of festivals throughout Karlsruhe and the surrounding area for several years. She met and married her husband, CSM Norman Fulmer, Army – Ret., in the Mid- 1970's, and he returned to the United States with his bride in the late 1970's, to Colorado Springs, CO. They moved to the downriver area in the mid-1980's where they have lived since. An active part of the community, Betty earned her United States citizenship on July 4, 1998 and never missed an opportunity to share her pride of being a US citizen. Betty was often recognized for her accomplishments and volunteer efforts with the Trenton Lions Club as well as other local organizations. She also was a hardworking nanny for a prominent Trenton family and loved the opportunity to help care for their 2 daughters. She loved to cook a good meal and enjoyed an evening out with friends and dancing. Betty is survived by her daughter Yvonne Heil of Karlsruhe and 4 granddaughters, Patricia, Angelina, Selina and Jessika and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her husband of 40+ years , Norman and his 4 children. She is predeceased by her parents Willie and Hildegard Armbrust.
