Elinor Perkins died February 20, 2011. Was born in Detroit December 10, 1914 to Charles and Vietline (Morency) Ames. May 4, 1940, married John R. Perkins, who preceeded her in death on February 16, 1976. Also preceeding her in death were infant son, John R. Perkins, Jr. on September 2, 1941, infant daughter, Janet Carol, on February 28, 1947, and son John Edward on February 18, 1989. Father, Charles Ames died in 1937, brother Neil in 1973 and mother, Vietline in 1964. She was a member of Bellevue United Methodist Church, Esther Circle and 20th Century Club. Elinor is survived by her daughter-in-law Margaret Perkins, her daughter Janis Willoughby, her daughter and her husband Phyllis and Alfred "Faygo" Samuels, her son Alan Perkins and family friend Jeff Tompkins; eight grandchildren, Melissa (Brian) Wade, Bowling Green, KY, Jason (Laura) Willoughby, Versailles, KY, Shannon Perkins, Minneapolis, MN, Nicole Samuels, Lathrup Village, MI, Erin (Mauricio) Fenoll, Rochester Hills, MI, Rachel Benson, Sterling Heights, MI, Kara Samuels, Oak Park, MI, Amanda (Tommy) Rippy, Bowling Green, KY; 10 great-grandchildren, Brian, Heather and Logan Wade, Bowling Green, KY, Kyle Samuels, Jalen and Blake Benson, Sterling Heights, MI, Maureen and Kathleen Fenoll, Rochester Hills, MI, Gavin and Payton Willoughby, Versailles, KY. She is further survived by cousins, other family members and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Bellevue United Methodist Church, 122 W. Capital, Bellevue, MI 49021.
