Born in Detroit, Eleanor was the daughter of John & Anna (Feher) Cherry. She married the love of her life, Alex Sara, on November 19, 1938 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee. Sadly he preceded her in death March 17, 1998. A dedicated homemaker and gardener, Eleanor was very proud of her Hungarian heritage. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Christian Women's Society. She belonged to the Lady Knights of the K of C, Frenchtown and Monroe Senior Citizens and the Daughters of Isabella. One of her favorite pastimes was dancing with her beloved husband. Eleanor leaves to cherish her memory three children: John (Lynn Elaine Johnston) Sara of Farmington Hills, Carolyn (Howard) Morrin of Monroe and Mary Jane (Mike) Watkins of Dearborn Heights; 11 grandchildren: Christina Morrin, Mark Morrin, Holly Cramner, Ryan Morrin, Elise Morrin, Stacey Graves, Nichole Farrell, Jeannie Badillo, Mary Jo Baize, James Sara and Julie Briton; as well as 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Michael Hober and Alexander Cherry. In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
