What a wonderful life! Elaine Freeman of Allen Park, Michigan, passed away Friday, July 14th. She had just celebrated 90 years of living life as fully as possible and making something valuable of every moment. She was born in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Al and Annunciata Borowski. She graduated from Marygrove College, earned a Master's degree at Wayne State University, and taught at Immaculata High School. She married the love of her live, the late Charles A. "Sam" Freeman and together they raised five children. Elaine went on to teach Art at Allen Park High School for 20 years, and was the first girls' tennis coach at the school. Elaine's optimism and her warm and generous heart will be missed by everyone who knew her, especially her children: Marianne (Marni) Robins (David), Daniel A. Freeman (Dianne), Patrick C. Freeman (Laurie), Robert K Freeman (Joanne), and Michael J. Freeman (Sandra). Her sister Barb Riehl. And grandchildren: Jacqueline (Tim), Christina (Chris), James (Sara), Forest, Brian, Nancy, Cara, Nicholas, Megan, and Jack. And great grandchildren: Zion David and Zen Edward. Visitation is Sunday from 3 pm - 9 pm with a Rosary on Sunday at 7 pm both at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard). Elaine will lie in state on Monday at 11:30 am at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 9000 Laurence, Allen Park, MI until the Mass which will begin at 12 noon.
