Eileen Paquette

Eileen Paquette, age 77, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 24th, 2023. She was

born in Detroit, MI on July 31, 1946 to her mother Shirley (Goodrich) Slater and father, James Buckley,

both whom preceded her in death.

Though born in Detroit, she spent a large portion of her life in the sunshine state of Florida, enjoying the

warmer weather and nearby coastal views, eventually returning to Michigan to be closer to her

immediate family. She loved to read and travel. She ventured across the globe, including visits to family

in Oregon and taking part in several Caribbean cruise adventures. She ventured across the Atlantic and

had several visits to multiple European countries, a life-long dream she held. She loved music of all

types, but preferred classical and classic rock above all, especially those sang by her favorite artist, Bob

Seger. She also loved trivia and was a wealth of knowledge on a wide range of subjects, often being the

first picked for any Trivia Pursuit challenge. Yet, for us, she will always be our beloved Mother,

Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.

Eileen is survived by her four children, Theresa (Joe) Hartwig, James (Suzanne) Hartwig, Loretta Devoy,

Dawn (John) Smith, nine (9) grandchildren (Jordan, Zack, Cody, Davis, Jaci, Blake, Jon, Will, and Olivia),

and one (1) great-grandchild (Tanner). She is also survived by her sisters (Ginna, Kathy, Barbara, Stella)

and her brother (Don). Her step-father, Thomas, and sister, Francis, also preceded her in death.
