Edward P. Kraynak died Tuesday, January 15 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn of cardiac arrest. He was 93. Ed had four careers: a Navy flight instructor who trained PBY pilots during WWII, a partner in his father's truck lettering company, a sixth-grade teacher in the Dearborn public schools, and founder and concertmaster of the Allen Park Symphony Orchestra. He also played violin in the Scandinavian Symphony Orchestra for 28 years, performing 26 concerts in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. He was a board member for the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association, a volunteer at nursing homes, and an active member of Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church. While on a naval mission in Minnesota, he met his late wife, Lois, who passed in 1999. In 2002, he married Susanne Rose, who also passed in 2011. He is survived by his son Byron (and daughter-in-law Dana), daughter Rita Constantakis (and son-in-law John), and grandchildren Sara, Crista, and Nicholas.
