Edward A. Alice

Edward Anthony Alice, age 95, born September 26th, 1929, passed into heaven on October 23, 2024.

He was the husband of Margarie Ellen Alice, who is he now joined with togther for eternity. Both are survived by his sons Edward, Paul (Lynn), Kenneth, Mark (Debbie), and his daughter, Joanne. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his son, Peter, in July of 2023. Survived by his grandchildren Nathan, Matthew, Joseph, Tiffany, Breanne, Heather, Joanne, and the late Nicole; survived by his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jack, Isaiah, Tristan, Joe, and Thoren.

Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Edward moved his family to Trenton, MI in 1964 while working for Allstate Insurance immediately he became involved with the development of the newly formed Trenton Hockey Association where he also coached and supported it along with his sons.

In 1972, he earned his law degree from Detroit Mercy Law School and went directly into a very successful private practice in Trenton for many years.

He had a passion for living above and in the air becoming a pilot he did and traveled across the U.S. and even into Canada once to help retrieve a plane in distress, He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and he could often be seen at the Grosse Ile Airport.

He was very involved in Wyandotte Figure Skating Club with his wife and daughter, Joanne in their synchronized figure skating competitions and he her shows as the video and music man.

Edward wrote 2 books about his many flying adventures with family and friends. Born the same year, the Ambassador Bridge opened in 1929, which he enjoyed witnessing the building progress of the new Gordie Howe International Bridge. What a fantastic life span he has given to us in both the U.S.A. and Canada; his hope is for friends and family, which many are still in Canda and surviving grandchildren and great-grandchildren will carry on as we all look for the day, yes that reunion day! Visitation will take place from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, November 11, 2024 at the Trenton Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd. Trenton, MI 48183. Funeral mass will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Trenton, MI. He will lie in state at 10:30 am. He will be cremated afterwards.
