Edith Masserant Graves

Edith Masserant Graves, age 96, died at 6:50am March 14, 2010 at Marybrook Assisted Living, Flat Rock. Born November 22, 1913 in Rockwood, Edith was the daughter of Edward and Minnie (Lezotte) Pelkey. She married Cletus Masserant September 17, 1932, who preceded her in death February 8, 1985. She then married John Graves November 24, 1986, who also preceded her in death May 26, 2003. Edith worked as a cook for 15yrs at Henderson's in Rockwood, sold fresh vegetables at a stand at her home for 20yrs and also did cancer volunteer work for St. Mary's Women's Club. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockwood. Edith is survived by three sons James (Gail) Masserant of Allen Park, Richard (Phyllis) Masserant of Rockwood and Dale (Sharon) Masserant of Flat Rock, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, both spouses, a brother Emmet Beaudrie and a sister Marie Chamberlin.
