Ed Goerke

Click on the tribute wall above to view Ed's video tribute and funeral service Ed Goerke, of Northville, formerly of Trenton, passed away on November 26, 2020. Born in Detroit to Edwin and Edna Goerke on October 13, 1923. Ed attended Dearborn Fordson High School where he played tennis. He married Elsie Drum in 1949. They then had six children. He worked at Ace Hardware- ACO Inc. for 50 years. After he retired, he enjoyed playing golf. He was the president of Water’s Edge Country Club in Grosse Ile. He visited Mom’s restaurant every day for the last 30 years. He will be missed dearly by the staff there. Ed loved baseball and watching the Detroit Tigers play. He cherished his grandchildren. Ed survived by his longtime girlfriend, Helen Chiri; his 6 kids, Daniel Goerke, Carolyn Finnell, Richard Goerke, Steven Goerke, Patricia Leads and Kathy Pierce; his grandchildren, Sarah Leads, Sophie Pierce, Seth Pierce, Anna Finnell, Lauren Finnell and Danielle Peterson. Ed was preceded in death by his wife Elsie and his two brothers. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Ed to the charity of your choice.
