"To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return" (Hajj) Dr. Rafeek Mahmoud Farah, 68, of New Boston, MI, died November 1, 2015 in Trenton, MI following a strong battle of cancer. Rafeek is the beloved husband, father and grandfather to his surviving wife, Fatmah, their five children: Mahmoud (Nervana) Farah, Dena Farah, Reem Farah, Ghadah (Terrance) Winfield and Ahmad (Sonya) Farah, and his 21 grandchildren. Rafeek had a strong faith in Allah and was extremely charitable. His loves included his family, his Palestinian heritage, medicine and digging with his tractor. He always stressed the value of an education, knowledge being essential to prosperous life. Rafeek always pursued advancing himself both spiritually and professionally. He completed the journey to Hajj twice. Rafeek was a very strong and passionate physician who treated the Downriver community for forty years. "Where there is a will, there is a way!" Rafeek will always be in our hearts, please pray for him to have a safe journey into the hereafter. In lieu of flowers or monetary condolences, Rafeek has requested commemorations to be made to one of his favorite charities in his honor: Anera, Zakat Foundation of America, United Palestinian Appeal, Islamic Relief or Doctors Without Borders; c/o Dr. Ahmad Farah 2105 West Rd., Trenton, Michigan 48183 Rest in peace Rafeek (Dad), we love you.
