Dr. John F. (Jack) Doyle

Dr. John F. (Jack) Doyle of Trenton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2022 surrounded by family. He was 87 years old. John F. Doyle was born to the late Thomas and Helen Doyle on April 9, 1935. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1953. He earned his Bachelor Degree in economics from Michigan State University in 1957 and his Doctor of Education from Wayne State University in 1980. He married the love of his life Barbara Jean Schneider on June 18, 1960 in Taylor, Michigan. She survives him. Together they raised three sons of whom they are and have always been extremely proud. They also have three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Dr. John F. Doyle worked for the Trenton Public Schools from 1960 until 1996 as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal, business manager, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. John was blessed with a quick wit, honesty, and dignity. He had a strong Irish sense of humor and enjoyed tennis, traveling, wintering in Arizona, Doyle family canoe trips, his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Michael (Jackie) Doyle, Grosse Ile, Larry (Rosemary) Doyle, Saginaw, John (Rose) Doyle, Riverview. Also surviving are three grandchildren Kevin Doyle, Colleen (Tim) Sassack and Angela Kotkowski and two great grandchildren Quinn Sassack and Molly Sassack of Northville. John is survived by his brother Larry Doyle of North Carolina. John is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. John was preceded in death by brothers Tom Doyle and Jim Doyle. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Wednesday July 27th, 2022 from 1:00pm - 8:00pm, at the Trenton Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd., Trenton, MI 48183. On Thursday July 28th, 2022 the family will receive friends from 9:30am until time of Mass 10:00am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2623 Third St., Trenton, MI 48183. Committal Service and interment to immediately follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown, concluding with a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of John may be made directly to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
