Douglas O. Sieb, age 93 of Monroe, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Beaumont Hospital Trenton. Born February 8, 1929 in Monroe, Douglas was the son of Oscar and Mary (Clark) Sieb. He was a 1946 graduate of Monroe High School. He married Doris McNamee, on October 7, 1950. Douglas faithfully served our country in the United States Army from December 12, 1950 until November 27, 1952 having served overseas in Germany. He attained the rank of Sergeant. Douglas worked as a Plumber for Sieb Plumbing and Heating for over 39 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Plumbers Local 671, a life member of VFW Post 1138, and the Monroe Boat Club. He enjoyed Michigan football, playing euchre, gardening, wintering in Florida, but most especially watching the sporting exploits of his son and grandsons in their athletic endeavors . He was an avid follower of the SMCC football program and was the foreman of the chain gang for 43 years. Douglas is survived by Doris, his wife of the past 71 years; a son John (Cindy) Sieb; sister Nancy Waltz, two grandchildren: Steven (Alyssa) and Eric, and great grandchildren Isaiah, Elijah, Adriana, Ava, Thia, Trinity and Tucker. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donald and Richard, and a nephew Paul Waltz. To honor Doug's wishes, do not send any flowers. Rather, make memorials to the St. Mary Catholic Central Football Program.
