Dorothy Theresa Arble

CLick on the tribute wall above to view Dorothy's video tribute. Dorothy Theresa Pennefather Arble of Trenton passed away on February 14, 2022 at the age of 94. Born September 17, 1927 on Pine Street in River Rouge to parents Joseph Pennefather and Grace Heisler. Beloved sister of the late Patricia Williamson, Dorothy graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes in 1945. She would stay in regular contact with her high school friends for the rest of her life. Dorothy married her high school sweetheart John Arble in 1947 after his return from serving in the Pacific during WWII. She was the proud mother of Michael (Virginia), Patrick (Susan), Kathleen, Kevin (Connie), Brian (Aly), Dennis (Carolyn), Sean, Darren and Brendan (Rose). In her words - “They are the scourge and the delight of my life. I never thought I would live to see them grow up because I contemplated jumping off the bridge many times.” Dorothy was also the proud grandmother to 24 grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren. Even with such a large family, Dorothy somehow found the time for oil painting, teaching piano, prodigious amounts of sewing, writing poetry, reading books, working crossword puzzles, playing word games, refinishing furniture, researching family genealogy and traveling to every corner of the globe with her husband John.
