Dorothy Lee Epps

Born in Belzoni, Mississippi, Dorothy was the daughter of Leroy Browder and Annie Lee Swan-Taylor. She married the love of her life, William Epps, in December of 1969. A dedicated homemaker, Dorothy also worked over 27 years for the State of Michigan, retiring in 2001. She was a faithful member of Second Missionary Baptist Church of Monroe and sang in the choir. Her hobbies included crocheting and fishing. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, William, her husband of the past 44 years; children: Ronda Wise of Berkley, LaVerne (Delbert Williams) Wise of Belleville, Marci (David) Epps-Johnson, William A. Epps III, Jimala Epps, Bianca Epps, Sierra Epps, Ashley Epps, Darrius Epps, Elishaia Epps and Annastasia Epps all of Monroe; brothers and sisters: Mary Swan of Chicago, Sally (L.C.) Scott of Chicago, Linda (James) Reed of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Janice Swan of Belzoni, Mississippi, Juanita (Ira) Henderson of Rowlett, Texas, Loretta Swan of Mesquite, Texas, Sammy Lee (Lorraine) Swan of Mishawaka, Indiana, Sam Swan Jr. of Inkster and Aron (Gail) Swan of Morehead, Mississippi; as well as 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sadly she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Dorothy Lee Epps, 1 brother Alonzo Gaines and a sister-in-law Voncile Gaines. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Dorothy's honor are asked to consider the Epps family to help offset funeral expenses.
