Born in Raisinville, Township, Dorothy was the daughter of Joseph and Leola (Bressler) Boudrie. She attended St. Joseph School in Maybee and at the age of 16 got her first job, house cleaning for 50 cents a day. Dorothy then married the love of her life, Arthur LeVasseur, on October 15, 1938 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee, where she was a lifelong member and member of the Christian Mothers Group. Sadly he preceded her in death September 23, 1993. Dorothy was a Master Gardner, gardening through last summer, maintaining over 50 rose bushes as well as many other flowers and plants. She enjoyed bowling, knitting and doing hook rugs. Dorothy was also an avid camper, and looked forward to going up north to Reedsburg Dam, she also enjoyed going the casino weekly to play the Penny Slot Machines. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Ruth Bruckner of Willis; grandchildren: Michael (Imo) Sperling of Monroe, Dean Sperling of Petersburg and Candie (Scott) Wilson of Willis; great grandchildren: Kelsey, Katie, Michael, Ashley, Lauren and Kendra; great grandchildren: Amelia (who was born on Dorothy’s 95th birthday), Joseph and Anthony; as well as her siblings: Gloria (Robert) Stiffler of Monroe, Don (Janice) Hoffman of Maybee and Daniel “Bud” (Phyllis) Hoffman of Maybee. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Beverly Sperling; a granddaughter Rhonda Sperling; as well as siblings Harold Boudrie, Russell Boudrie and Margie Boudrie. Dorothy’s family would like to thank her neighbors, or as Dorothy would refer to them her “Angels”: Mr. & Mrs. John Boes, Mr. & Mrs. Ernie Vroman and Mr. & Mrs. Tom Broman, for the loving care shown to Dorothy throughout the years. Memorial contributions in honor or Dorothy may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley or the American Heart Association.
