Dorothy Kay Ramsey

Dorothy Kay Ramsey, of Yale, Michigan, formerly of Grosse Ile, Michigan, passed away April 30, 2023.

Dear mother of Michael (Jessie) Ramsey and Jill (Nicholas) Tomilenko. Proud grandmother of Taylor Ramsey, Michael T. Ramsey, Nicholas Tomilenko and Jillian Tomilenko. Cherished sister of Rawson (Karen) Beals. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Dorothy Beals, her grandmother Emma Chamberlain, and her brother Denny Beals, and sister in law Rita Beals. She is survived by many other loving family members and friends.

Dorothy was born at Wyandotte Hospital in 1938. She moved to Grosse Ile when she was only a year old. She was a brownie and girl scout. She graduated from Grosse Ile High School in 1956. At 14 years old, she worked at Brown’s Pharmacy, Nates Market, Ford Yacht Club. She was a coach for little league cheerleading, and little league softball coach. She played softball and started golfing when she was in her 40’s.

A memorial service will be held at Martenson Family of Funeral Homes – Ridge Chapel on Thursday May 4, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy to The Island AA Group or Dementia Society of America.
