Dorothy Jane Ouellette, age 94, December 17, 2015 of Grosse Ile. Beloved wife of the late Thomas. Loving mother of Joe (deceased), Susan, Tom (Marian), Mary (the late Mike) Farley, Therese (Dick) Hoesli, Joan (Bill) Jollie, Greg (Jeanne), Katie (Russ) Chambers, Dan (Sue), Peggy (David) Street, and Jeannine. Dearest grandma of Kimberly (Bill), Courtney (Ben), Christopher (Carrie), Caitlin, Renee (Brian), Tom, Lauren (Evan), Michael, David, Ryan, Steve, Alison, Sam, Charles (Dana), Alexis, John (Stacie), Joe (Jackie), Kelly, Claire, Emily, Jesse, Kendall, Brooke and great-grandma of 15. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. Dorothy lived a life that reflected her strong of faith in God, love for her family, and gratitude for her many blessings. Dorothy's commitment to her faith was the foundation of her life. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grosse Ile. She attended daily Mass and routinely distributed Holy Communion to the homebound. Surrounded by those she loved at her large kitchen table, Dorothy enjoyed lively conversations, laughter, and playing cards. She had a unique ability to make you feel as if you were the most important person in her presence. In a time of need, she was always there to listen, offer a kind word, and make a commitment to keep you in her prayers. She was especially proud of her children's and grandchildren's educational achievements. Prominently on display in her home were pennants of each of the universities they attended. When entering her home Dorothy would cheerfully announce, "Hello House." We know she will use those same words when she enters Heaven.
