Dorothy J. Mccollum

Dorothy was born on December 14, 1933 in Henderson County, Tennessee and died on October 11, 2016 at the age of 82; she was of Taylor. Beloved wife of 64 years to Sammy. Loving mom of Cheryl (Rod) Sturgeon, Linda (Gary) Baranski, Steve (Rita), Lisa (Charles) Clark and Cathy (Steven) Trimble. Proud grandma of 8 and great grandma of 3. Dearest sister of Benny Yates, Carolyn Elliott, Mary (Robert) Bonee and Katherine Jones. Also survived by other loving family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents William and Lela (nee: Mitchell) Wyatt and three brothers Howard, Boyd and Johnny. Dorothy was a member of Gilead Baptist Church in Taylor; she enjoyed sewing, gardening, square dancing and traveling. Visitation is on Friday from 2 pm until the time of the funeral service which will start Friday at 6 pm at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd., Allen Park.
