Doris Marie Blessing

Doris Marie Blessing August 9, 1932 – September 18, 2021 Doris Marie Blessing (89) passed away peacefully on September 18, 2021 at her home in Allen Park. She is survived by her children David Blessing, Debbie Armos, (George), Douglass Blessing (Debbie), Darryl Blessing (Tracey), Dawn Blessing Heil (John), Denise Osborn (Yoel), Deanna Blessing, and Daniel Blessing (Kim); her sisters Eileen Mandia, and Jean Ellen Stewart as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by her beloved husband John George Blessing III. Doris lived a very fulfilling and purposeful life raising eight children in Allen Park. She was a registered dietician, and spent many years working in nursing homes and hospitals during her career. She had a profound love for animals and rescued many cats and dogs that became her pets over the years. Her lifelong passion was Genealogy. She dedicated countless hours over the past four decades researching and writing for the Monroe Genealogy Society. She produced papers and compiled books containing her life’s work researching the Blessing Family and many others. Doris never lacked purpose in her life… even on her final day on this earth she was preparing to take a drive with her daughter Deanna to donate items to the Lincoln Park Historical Museum for their fundraising efforts. We love you Mom. We will miss you deeply but are at peace knowing that you are now rejoined with Dad in heaven. Memorial donations may be made in Doris Marie Blessing's name to the Michigan Humane Society. Memorial services will be performed at Martenson Funeral Home: 10915 Allen Road. Allen Park, MI 48101.
