Doreen M.D. Ganos

Doreen Ganos, M.D., age 58. Died unexpectedly at home February 19, 2018; of Allen Park and Riverview. Doreen was an accomplished board certified plastic surgeon with a specialty in hand and reconstructive surgery; she received M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. Doreen graduated valedictorian from Allen Park High School. She was an extremely dedicated surgeon at Henry Ford Hospital for 27 years. Doreen was dedicated to her work and her family. She was generous and caring; a supporter of the arts and avid dog lover. Doreen lived life to the fullest; she enjoyed scuba diving, boating, racing cars, traveling, photography, and science fiction books and movies (notably a Trekkie). Doreen is survived by her mother Gaye Ganos; her siblings Judith (Chester) Budziak, Beverly Sinclair-Ganos, Linda (Nick) Hammond-Dinkelmann, Thomas (Sharon) Ganos, and Lisa (John) Heidemann; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and more. She also leaves behind her two dogs Tiberius and Miles. Friends and family may visit Sunday February 25 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Allen Park Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 10915 Allen Rd. in Allen Park. The memorial service will be held Monday February 26 at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Memorial donations in Doreen's honor may be made to Operation Smile and WAG Animal Rescue.
