Donald Lester Hoffman

Born in Maybee, Donald was the son of Daniel and Leola (Bressler) Hoffman. He married the love of his life, Janice Straub, on Febraury 3, 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee. Donald worked as a plasterer for over 68 years, founded Hoffman Plastering, retiring in 2001. His sons Doug and Rick continue to run the business today. A faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee, he also was president of the Men’s Club. Donald also was assistant chief and fireman with the LMR Fire Department for over 23years. He was past president of the UAW at Universal Die in Saline. Donald was an avid baseball/softball player and coach, he also loved playing Euchre. Donald leaves to cherish his memory, Janice, his wife of the past 58 years; children: Lori Hoffman, Dawn (Donald) Niedzwiecki, Terri (Derek) Edwards, Doug (Leslie) Hoffman, Beckey (Jeff) Willard, Pam (Jim) Nigro and Rick (Jenny) Hoffman;13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; as well as two siblings: Gloria (Bob) Stiffler and Dan (Phyllis) Hoffman Jr. and a sister-in-law Alice Boudrie. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings: Russell Boudrie, Harold Boudrie, Dorothy LeVasseur, and Marge Barnes. Due to the current COVID-19 state mandated guidelines, the family requires that those attending wear face masks, observe proper social distancing guidelines and limit their visitation time. Memorial contributions in honor of Donald may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Men’s Club.
