Donald James Drouillard, age 87 of Monroe, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021. Born September 24, 1934 in Monroe, Donald was the son of Harry and Gladys (Poad) Drouillard. A graduate of Monroe High School, he faithfully served our country in the United States Air Force serving overseas where he met and married his first wife, Irene Cook in England in 1958. He then was married to Sharon Keller on February 17, 1973. Sadly she preceded him in death April 4, 1997. Donald worked at the family restaurant “Drouillards” becoming owner in 1960 until his retirement in 1990. Donald was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was known to be very generous and charitable; sponsoring many baseball, softball and bowling teams. He was one of the founders of the DDQ Charity Golf Outing and was well known for playing Santa during the Christmas season. Donald leaves to cherish his memory his children: Lynne (Dan) Scorziello, Laurie Fosahg, Suzanne (David) Doom and Beth (Kim) McLennan; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren. In addition to his wife Sharon, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son Stephen Drouillard; a step-daughter Linda Kurtz and a son-in-law Ron Foshag. Memorial contributions in honor of Donald may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
