Donald Eugene Hilliard

Donald Eugene Hilliard age 77 of Monroe, passed away November 7, 2021 at Medilodge of Monroe. Born October 29, 1944 in Marion, Illinois, Don was the son of Willis and Anna Hilliard. A graduate of Marion High School, he faithfully served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Don married the love of his life, Marilyn Stover on September 5, 1965. Sadly she preceded him in death July 12, 2014. Don worked as a Correction Officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons for over 30 years, retiring in 1994. He then worked security at Memorial Hospital and the Monroe County Courthouse. He enjoyed baseball, hunting and shooting. Don leaves to cherish his memory his children: Donald Hilliard II, Daniel (Lisa) Hilliard and Dana Hilliard; five grandchildren: Steven Hilliard, Carly Hilliard, Gabrielle Hilliard, Eli Hilliard and Naomi Hilliard. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings.
