Donald "Don" Ray Brunell

Twisted trails weeps today! The party has been moved to a higher location, as the ultimate son, brother, uncle and friend has passed away this day April 20, 2017 at the age of 58. He will be remembered for his unwavering determination in the face of physical difficulties and his unmatched kindness and love for others. Don was known for his ability to tell a joke or a funny story and made friends wherever he went. Don always accepted and appreciated what he had without complaining. Don was an Army Veteran who was extremely proud of his service and a true patriot who loved his country. He was blessed with many gifts, talents, and skills. His love for fixing things and engaging in many different projects kept him busy. He was a very meticulous and talented man. When a creative idea came to him he had the ability and ingenuity to bring it to life. Don liked to compete in Kaleva at the local drag race strip to see who could smoke their tires the longest and was a winner on more than one occasion. He also like to spend his weekends at the Twisted Trails hanging out with friends bouncing around the trails and later everyone sitting around bond fires, quenching their thirst and sharing the day's events. Don lived to ride, ride to live, his Harley Davidson. He would cruise the Michigan roads near and far and every year participated in the Blessing of the Bikes ride and the Thunder at the River a ride honoring veterans. Don is survived by his sister and brother in law Dorothy and Art Mills; nieces Mary Hastings and her children Layla and Devin and Lacey Jewell and her children Gavin, Nathan and Calvin. His friend and sweetheart Robin Jensen. He was preceded in death by his father Russell and his mother Kay, they are reunited once again.
