Donald Albert Lizyness

Donald Albert Lizyness, age 80 of Rockwood, passed away June 28, 2024.

Born October 3, 1943 in Monroe, Donald was the son of Frank and Ramona (Cousino) Lizyness. He married the love of his life, Clara Hicks, on September 19, 1964. Sadly she preceded him in death August 27, 2020. Donald worked for Ford Motor Company, most recently as a Die Setter, for 37 ½ years, retiring in 2001. He also had a Grass Cutting business for many years. He was a faithful member of St. Mary Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church and served as a Volunteer Fireman on the Rockwood Fire Department for over 25 years. Donald loved fishing, hunting, going to his cabin up-north. He enjoyed time spent with his dog Bear and his cat Sugar, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family.

Donald leaves to cherish his memory his children: Mike Lizyness, Kelly Lizyness, Kevin Lizyness and Mark Lizyness and son in law Richard O'Connor; 3 grandchildren: Brooklynn (Pat) Kennedy, Katelynn O’ Connor and Adam Lizyness; as well as 4 great grandchildren: Drew O’Connor, Sofia Kennedy, Alex Kennedy and Dominic Kennedy. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by daughter, Sharon O'Connor January 16, 2018, along with 7 siblings.
