Dolores Thomas was called home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2022. Dolores was born December 12, 1927 in Lorain, Ohio to John and Alice(Aquilla)Romano.
She was a beloved wife to the late Dominic Thomas. They had three children together the late Jared (Brooke)Thomas, Jeffrey (Caroline)Thomas and Rebecca (Don) Sweet. She was the proud grandmother of Craig(Anne) Megan(James), Katie(Jeffery),Elizabeth(Jonathan), Gemma, Alexis, Dominic, Emme, Aidan and two great grandchildren, Desmond and Connor.
Dolores graduated from Fordson High School in 1946. She married Dominic on December 21, 1946. Together they raised a family and opened up a children’s nursery school in Elyria, Ohio. In 1975 she overcame a battle with breast cancer. She graduated from University of Michigan in 1979 with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked as a teacher for Dearborn Public Schools for more than 10 years.
She will be missed by many family and friends as they remember enjoying her delicious homemade pies and pasta dinners she would so graciously serve whenever you visited her!
Dolores was a strong and faithful woman who spent her life serving the Lord.
Visitation will take place on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 3-8pm at the Martenson Funeral Home 10915 Allen Rd. Allen Park, MI 48101 . Funeral will be held on Tuesday January 3rd at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 am.
