She was a homemaker who had previously worked as a School Teacher and Librarian. She was a longtime member and leader of the Fortune Seekers 4-H Club and charter member of the Monroe Chapter of the Sweet Adeline's. Dolores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee, served her parish as a Catechism Teacher and was active with the Sacred Heart Women's Guild. In addition to her husband Gilbert of 55 years, Dolores is survived by 8 children: Carlina Breitner of Bear Lake, Debra (Julius) Burkey of Aurora, Colorado, Maria Wright of Micanopy, Florida, Linda (William) Shurlow of Potterville, Patricia Clear of Leeton, Missouri, Cynthia Janisko of Stow, Ohio, Paul (Colleen) Steinman of Tallahassee, Florida and Melissa (Steve) Borbely of Maybee. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; two brothers: Lawrence Pointer of Phoenix, Arizona, Douglas (Barbara) Pointer of Walker, Michigan and two sisters: Donna (Roger) Whitman of Coopersville and Janice Burke of Grandhaven. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by a son David Steinman; sons-in-law Mark Breitner and Sid Wright. Dolores was a truly amazing and wonderful wife and mother who will be sadly missed.
