Dennis G. Short

Dennis was born on August 16, 1940 in Wayne, Michigan to Richard and Violet Short and died on December 1, 2015 at his home at the age of 75. Beloved Husband of 50 years to Diana (nee: Green). Loving Dad of Nichole (Steven) Hoover and Nancy Short. Proud Grandpa "Walking Stick" of Brendan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dennis was a graduate of Western High School in Detroit; proudly served his country in the United States Army and during his working life he served as a machinist. He was a member of the Foresters for 73 years; was a past member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary; a registered Girl Scout and a member of St. Kateri Catholic Church. His love in life was his family and he enjoyed boating and camping. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Dennis will lie in state on Saturday 10 am at St. Kateri Catholic Church, 16101 Rotunda, Dearborn, Michigan 48120 until Funeral Liturgy which will begin at 11 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to honor Dennis' life may be made to Hospice of Michigan-Quality of Life Fund or St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor-Pastoral Care Department.
