Dennis F. Donovan was born on September 6, 1947 in Del Ray, Michigan to Edwin F. and Cleo E. (Burnett) Donovan; he was baptized at the local Methodist Church. Dennis passed away on November 25, 2022 at his home in Gibraltar at the age of 75.

Dennis proudly served his Country in the United States Army from 1967 – 1970 during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Sue A. (Watson) on October 24, 1970 in Natick, Massachusetts. Dennis was employed by McLouth Steel, Mazda and Auto Alliance; he retired in 2012 from Ford Motor Company. He was a member of the Trenton VFW, UAW Local 3000, USW 2659 and Friends of Potter Cemetery Association.


Dennis will be greatly missed by his loving wife Sue A. Donovan of Gibraltar, Michigan; his son Brian C. Donovan of Fowlerville, Michigan; his grandchildren: Pazlee and Viola Donovan of Ithaca, Michigan and their mother Leslie A. Siefka; his sister Kathaleen (Wayne) Poirier of Aiken, South Carolina and two brothers James (Sam) Donovan of Allen Park, Michigan and Edwin (Mary) Donovan of Wyandotte, Michigan. Also survived by his aunt Esther (Ted) Perry of Chesterfield, Michigan, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, many other loving family, and friends.

Sadly, he was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Cleo Donovan and one brother Richard Donovan.


Dennis enjoyed going to George’s Family Restaurant in Trenton and had many friends there. While his family was his love in life and he enjoyed spending time with them he especially enjoyed his time with his son and grandchildren. He also enjoyed jig saw puzzles, word search puzzles, going walking and especially enjoyed his cup of black coffee.


In keeping with Dennis’ wishes there will be no services at this time. Memorial contributions to honor his life may be made as the donor chooses. Please click on the tribute wall above to share a memory.
