Dayton C. Kennedy

Dayton was born on October 18, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Ruth (nee: Rapin) Kennedy and died at the MediLodge of Howell on August 26, 2018 at the age of 85; he was of Monroe. Beloved dad of Lisa Beyer, Laura (Eric) Best and the late Patrick Kennedy. Proud grandpa of Amanda (Scott) Ross, Tim Peacock (Christina Wilson), Ashley Peacock (Doug Mullen), Gennifer Best and Katarina Beyer. Also survived by his nieces, nephews other loving family and friends. In addition to his parents and son he was preceded in death by his twin sister Dorothy Morgan, his sister Pat Didomenico and one brother Bill Kennedy. Dayton proudly served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Visitation is on Wednesday from 4 pm to 8 pm at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd., Trenton. He will lie in state on Thursday at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 21599 Parke Lane, Grosse Ile, Michigan 48138 until the time of the Funeral Liturgy which will begin at 11:00 am. The Downriver Veterans Honor Guard will pay a tribute at the Church at the conclusion of Mass.
