Born in Cynthiana, Kentucky, David was the son of George and Sara (Gillespie) Ammerman. He proudly served his country with the United States Army, having served as a Paratrooper in Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Connie Eileen Piekacz, on December 8, 1989. David worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with the Operating Engineers Union for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was past Commander for the Maybee VFW, Member of the American Legion, Maybee Sportsman Club, was a Shooting Coach for the Junior Travel Trap League and Monroe High Trap Club; as well as a long time 4-H leader. David leaves to cherish his memory, Connie, his wife of the past 26 years; children: Douglas Matthew Ammerman of Maybee, Stevin Patrick Ammerman of Maybee, Michael James Ammerman of Maybee, Rhonda Lee Ann Ammerman-Rogers of Warren and David Kirtly Ammerman of Warren; 4 grandchildren Ryan Rogers, Skylar Rogers, Alexandria Ammerman and David Ammerman; 2 great grandchildren: Clayton Rogers and Avery Rogers; as well as siblings: James (Judy) Ammerman of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Gerald (Janie) Ammerman of Georgetown, Kentucky, Judy (Wayne) Ware of Salvisa, Kentucky, Susan Ammerman of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Connie (William) Horn of Cynthiana, Kentucky; and a sister-in-law Mattie Ammerman of Paris, Kentucky.
