David Moses Tear was born on January 2, 1940, in Wyandotte, Michigan and died on March 1, 2022 at his residence in Riverview at the age of 82; he was formerly of Woodhaven, MI. Beloved husband of nearly 60 years to Susan (nee: Tibbetts). Loving dad of Ann (Robert) Allen, David, Jr. (Katie) Tear, Katie (Paul) Baird and Nathan (Michelle) Tear. Proud grandpa of Alison (Hector), Duggan, Anthony, Riley, Connor, Abbie and Drew and great grandpa to his precious Eulalia and Hector. Dearest brother of William (Hans). Also survived by his sister-in-law Eddis and other loving family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Moses and Abbie (nee: Lilienthal) and three brothers; Charles (Barb), Ralph (Margaret) and Thomas. He was a beloved teacher for the Wyandotte Public School System for 40 years, an alumnus and avid fan of the University of Michigan. Visitation is on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 2 pm to 6 pm with a Rosary Sunday 5:30 pm both at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd. David will lie in state on Monday, March 7, 2022, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church, Woodhaven until the time of the funeral liturgy at 11 am. Memorial contributions to honor his life may be made to Beaumont Hospice or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
