David K. Champnella

David K. Champnella of Flat Rock, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the age of 76. Cherished father of Dawn (Tom) Baeckeroot and Nicole (Jeff) Weidner. Loving papa of Bryce, Quentin, Leirin, Emelia, and Gabriel. Dearest brother of Rick (Stephanie) Champnella, Cheryl (Ernie) Boyd, and Linda (Bob) Dean. Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his first wife Connie Champnella nee Genuise, his second wife Esther Champnella nee Hulkkonen, his parents Frederic and Irene Champnella, and his siblings; Sandy (the late Doug) Brunell, and Dennis (Debbie) Champnella. He will be deeply missed by many loving family and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 3200 West Road, 48183. Services will begin at 2:30 p.m. that same day, with military honors being performed by the Downriver Veterans Honor Guard, followed by the officiating of funeral rites.
