David B. Honeycutt, of Brownstown passed away April 6, 2022. Loving son of Lucille Honeycutt. Loving father of Nicholas Honeycutt, Christopher Honeycutt and Kenneth Miller. Proud papa of Ava, Audrey and Monte-Carlo. Beloved brother of Brenda K Fincher and the late Jim Honeycutt. He is survived by many nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He will be greatly missed by his dear friends, and his former wife and mother of Christopher and Nicholas, Cynthia. David proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years. He worked for Jack Haines as a tool maker. He made lifelong friendships during the 33 years he worked there before retiring. He loved to cook and was always looking at expanding his methods. He dreamed of one day opening a food truck. He was most passionate about cooking, and enjoyed it most when his granddaughters would accompany him in the kitchen. He was always planning the next meal and no one left the house hungry. He was always calling mom to get the secret family recipes to make sure he was preparing them properly. David was a very intricate and precise engineer. He built a casket for the family dog when he passed away. You would always find Loco waiting by the grill in the summer time for his hamburger. David was a selfless man, and was loyal to his family. Christopher, Monte and David went fishing at the Huron Park for the very first time. Monte had his snoopy fishing pole and wasn’t catching anything when Christopher was helping, but as soon as David started helping Monte, they instantly caught four fish back to back. Most importantly, David was a family man. His family came first, and would do anything for anyone. Visitation will be held at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, Trenton Chapel on Tuesday April 12, from 2pm until 9pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday April 13, at 12pm. There will be a procession to Michigan Memorial Park for burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Association or the American Heart Association.
