Click on the tribute wall above to view Darlene's video tribute. Darlene was born on December 7, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan and died on July 29, 2021 at the age of 78; she was of Taylor. Cherished wife of 58 years to Roland “Ron”. Loving mother of Linda (Bill) Hamrick, Tom (Dorian) Fix and Scott (Angie) Fix. Proud grandmother of Luke, Nicole, Emily, Caitlin, Jessica, Daniel and Benjamin. Also survived by her sister-in-law Christine, her nieces, nephews, other loving family and many friends. Preceded in death by her parents Daniel Paul Shilling and Amelia Louise (Wilbur) Shreve and one brother Roy Owen. Darlene was a graduate of St. Alphonsus in Dearborn, Michigan. Before she retired, she served different companies as a Customer Service Representative. Her family was her love in life and she adored her grandchildren; she was involved in every aspect of their life making sure to be there for them as much as possible. Visitaiton is on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 3 – 9 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm both at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard). Darlene will lie in state at St. Alfred Catholic Church in Taylor on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:30 am until the time of the Funeral Liturgy which will begin at 11 am. Interment Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown, MI. Memorial contributions to honor Darlene’s life may be made as the donor chooses.
