Darinka Rush

Darinka Rush, age 98 of Rockwood, passed away August 30, 2022. Born February 16, 1924 in West Virginia, Darinka was the daughter of Frank and Helen Susan. She married the love of her life, Paul Rush, February of 1946. Sadly he preceded her in death January of 1981. Darinka was a faithful member of St. Mary Our Lady of The Annunciation Catholic Church in Rockwood. She was also a member of the Polka Boosters, she traveled far and wide to find a good church festival so she could do some polka dancing. Darinka was often complimented on her clothing which most likely she made herself. She also loved celebrating family birthdays and prayed for all of her family continually and constantly. Her favorite flowers were red rosed which she usually had throughout her house. She will be greatly missed by her family, but they know she is in a better place. Darinka was an auxiliary member of the VFW Post 4230 Rock of Gibraltar. She enjoyed dancing and sewing. Darinka leaves to cherish her memory her children: Susan Gering and Mary (David) Stockert; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a sister Olga Vozinak. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 children: Charles Rush and Joseph Rush; a grandson Charley Rush; as well as 5 siblings.
