Daniel 'Lt. Daan' Schenavar

Born in Monroe, Dan was the son of Stanley and Velma (Lajiness) Schenavar. A 1970 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central High School, he then went on to receive his Bachelor Degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1974. Dan married Karen Grodi on July 11, 1980. He worked in Purchasing/Procurement with NSK Corporation for over 33 years, retiring in 2014. Dan was considered an expert at socializing, living by the statement "My mission in life is to make people laugh". He enjoyed bowling, softball, dancing and boating. Dan was a member and Past President of the Monroe Fraternal Order of the Eagles as well as a member St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he served his church as an usher. Dan leaves to cherish his memory his children: Danielle (Carl Welch) Schenavar of Monroe and Kyle (Christina) Schenavar of Newport; grandchildren: Olivia Schenavar and Weston Schenavar; sisters Judy Kohler of Opp Alabama and Patricia (Charles) Harrison of Opp Alabama; as well as his ex-wife and longtime friend Karen Schenavar of Monroe. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Bill Schenavar and a sister Joan Quick.
