Daniel Leidholdt

Daniel was born on May 7, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio and died on July 27, 2017 at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital at the age of 90; he was of Allen Park. Beloved husband of the late Claire. Loving father of Jillian (Andy) Shimko and Bruce (Myra) Leidholdt. Proud papa of Alexandra Shimko and Nicholas Shimko. Dearest brother of Rosemary (the late Harold) Rourke. Also survived by his nieces, nephews, their families, other loving family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Anna (nee: Shevela) Leidholdt and 6 brothers Edwin, Robert, Charles, William, Lawrence and Clayton. Daniel proudly served his Country in the United States Army. Visitation is on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 1 – 8 pm with a Vigil Service Monday evening both at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard). Daniel will lie in state at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 9000 Laurence, Allen Park on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 11:30 am until the Funeral Liturgy which will begin at 12 noon.
