Craig William Fogus, 59, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly March 15, 2025.
Craig was born on June 6, 1965, in Midland, Michigan, to Joseph Fogus and Diane (Johnson) Fogus. A graduate of H. H. Dow High School, he received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1988. On September 30, 1989 he married his high school sweetheart, Christine Rush. They recently celebrated 35 years of marriage with a vow renewal during a family vacation in Las Vegas.
Along with Christine, Craig is survived by his pride and joy daughters, Samantha (Fogus) McIntosh and Mallory Fogus, as well as his son-in-law Seth McIntosh, and granddaughter Juliet McIntosh. He is also survived by his mother Diane Fogus, siblings, Katherine (Luke) Arendash, Brian Fogus, Michael (Dian) Fogus, Karen Dolliver, and many special in-laws, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Craig is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Fogus and mother-in-law, Shirley Bailey.
After growing up and then raising his children in Midland, Craig and family relocated to Grosse Ile, MI where he enjoyed his work with friends, and colleagues, at BASF in Wyandotte. He loved being near the water and boating with his family. He was an avid hunter that looked forward to deer camp with his brothers every fall. Craig cherished family gatherings and was usually the life of the party. If not coaching the girls’ teams, Craig was his daughters’ biggest fan in the stands and also the loudest. He was the ultimate girl dad and will be forever missed.
Craig will be remembered for his boisterous laugh, sincere kindness, and intense compassion for others. Also, for his handy pocket knife and his “I can fix it attitude”. There was never a project he couldn’t handle without three trips to the hardware store, plenty of ciphering, and a cooler.
Craig’s final care has been entrusted to Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, Trenton, MI. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Craig’s life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honor Craig’s memory may make a donation to their favorite charity or spend a moment outside under a shady tree.
