Connie "Bennie" Burrough

Constance Bennet Burrough was born on March 12th, 1945, in Ecorse, Michigan, to the union of Bee and Madeline Burroughs whom preceded her in death. Her siblings Eva Mae Flakes, Wyley Burroughs, and Larry Burroughs also proceeded her in death.

Constance (Connie) was the third of six children and gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Southwestern Highschool in 1963. Shortly after graduating, Connie entered a program with Michigan Bell Telephone Company (later known as AT&T), where she did the weather and worked as an operator. During this time she became the proud mother of her one and only child, her son,

Twymen S. Burrough on October 8th, 1977, who was her world, her heart, pride, and joy. After more than 30 years of work and reaching managerial status she retired from AT&T.

In 2009, Connie wanted to get back into the swing of things, so she decided to take a part-time job as a sales associate at Tuesday Morning where she made long-lasting friendships that were very endearing to her. However, due to her declining health in 2018, she had to retire.

Connie spent the remainder of her twilight years at Rivergate Terrace Nursing Home where her independent and diva personality was the talk of the facility amongst the residents and nursing staff which whom she made good friendships.

She leaves to cherish her memories her son Twymen (Rachel) Burrough; granddaughters Lily, Carmody, and Zoey; sisters Jacqueline Douglas and Stephanie (Kenneth) Berlin and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will truly and deeply miss her.
