He passed away on December 8, 2020, in the city of Grosse Ile, which he called home for the past forty years. He was the beloved husband of Eileen Cullinan Brundage. Together they had three daughters: Denise Frazier, Maureen (Joseph) Porcarelli, and the late Laura Brundage. Clayton was cherished by his grandchildren: Jessica, Sara, and Rachel Frazier and 1st Lt. Marine Specialist Aaron Porcarelli and Jacob Porcarelli. Clayton graduated from Wayne State University Mortuary School. He owned and operated Brundage Funeral Home in Southwest Detroit for over forty years. Clayton was known for his Christian convictions and generosity. He believed that even those who couldn’t afford a funeral deserved a proper burial; Clayton buried many people in the city of Detroit free of charge. He ultimately sold Brundage Funeral Home in 2001 to an organization that shared his same passion for helping the underserved communities of Detroit. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Paul Council #2632 where he served as the Financial Secretary and was an active member of the Lions Club. Clayton was a family man who loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren at his cottage in the Upper Peninsula. His grandchildren have many fond memories of him fishing, building bonfires, hiking mountains, and tubing on Lake Superior with them. A private service will be held on Friday, December 11th. He will be buried at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, next to his daughter, Laura.
