Clarence “Ray” Sawmiller, Jr., age 84 of Woodhaven, passed away March 2, 2020. Beloved husband of Patricia for 62 years. Loving father of Darrell (Debbie) and Holly (Gary) Jenkin. Proud grandfather of Rachel, Benjamin, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Jonathan and Charis. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Doris Sawmiller, brother Darrell, and sister Patricia Lalonde. Ray was a graduate of Central High School in Detroit before obtaining his Bachelors degree from Wayne State University and Masters degree from Baker College. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines and retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years of employment. For over 60 years Ray taught Sunday School at area churches and was an Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Trenton. Ray enjoyed being around people. After retirement he worked as a greeter at Meijer. In his spare time, he loved being on his bicycle and singing with the Floral City Harmonizers. But there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his family, especially the grand kids. He will be greatly missed by all. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church Missions Committee at First Presbyterian Church of Trenton
